Tastings & Events
Wine tastings are fun, educational, interactive, and a brilliant way to entertain friends or colleagues. Rebecca is a masterful host, equally at ease anchoring everything from informal private parties to large corporate events with incisive and engaging commentary on the chosen wines. She is able to read the room to judge whether to offer basic insights or more expansive assessments. Wine tasting is great for team-building or networking. Wine tasting events in person are usually near Exeter, Devon, however we also offer online wine tasting events via Zoom.
PRIVATE WINE TASTINGS
Rebecca is a very practised wine host for pre-dinner wine tastings or dinner party wine-pairings whether at home or at a venue of your choice. Her enthusiasm about wine is infectious and she enjoys sharing her knowledge in a relaxed, friendly and informal manner. This is a great way to entertain your guests and will give them a memorable tasting experience.

Prices start from £30 per person for a minimum of 10 guests.
Cost includes wine host fee plus wines for tasting, sourced and delivered to the venue (samples will be provided in miniature bottles if tasting online via Zoom). Travel expenses are not included. Wine tasting sheets and answer sheets will be provided.
CORPORATE WINE TASTINGS
Looking for an inspiring team-building or networking opportunity? Corporate wine tasting events are a great way to strengthen your team and develop client relationships. They can also be used to help launch a new product or business space. This is a great way to entertain your loyal clients, or incentivise staff with an office party. Rebecca can help you to plan and organise a corporate event to be held either in your office, or at a venue of your choice, or online via Zoom, with Rebecca Mitchell as your expert wine host.

WINE WORKSHOPS
Informal online wine workshops are a fun way to learn about wine. Choose from a selection of sensory workshops to indulge the senses. Explore your sense of sight, smell and taste to get the most out of the wines that you drink. These 30 minute workshops are run online via zoom with expert tuition from Rebecca Mitchell. Prices start from £25 based on a minimum of 4 guests. Includes a selection of 3 x 50ml wine samples sent out via courier to your home address prior to the event.
A) Colour of Wine – Sensory Workshop:
Learn how to describe what you see in your wine glass and what clues it gives you about the provenance, age and style of the wine that you’re tasting. Improve your wine tasting skills with this great interactive session with expert tuition from wine educator and sommelier, Rebecca Mitchell. This half hour Zoom session will equip you with basic colour descriptors using a wine colour chart so that you can feel confident in describing the colour of wine. It is a fun, informal online worksop via Zoom with a leading wine expert.

B) Wine Aromas – Sensory Workshop:
Hone your sense of smell and improve your wine aroma skills with this great interactive session with expert tuition from wine educator and sommelier, Rebecca Mitchell. This half hour Zoom session will equip you with basic aroma descriptors using an aroma wheel so that you can feel confident in detecting and describing the various aromas that you may find in wine. Rebecca will also show you how to develop your sense of smell and enhance your olfactory skills. It is a fun, informal online worksop via Zoom with a leading wine expert.

C) Discover your Taste – Sensory Workshop:
Awaken your taste-buds and improve your wine tasting skills with this great interactive session with expert tuition from wine educator and sommelier, Rebecca Mitchell. This half hour Zoom session will equip you with a better understanding of where your taste-buds are located using a tongue map. It will enable you to describe some basic flavour characteristics using a flavour wheel so that you can feel confident about identifying and describing what you are tasting in a glass of wine. Rebecca will also show you how to develop your sense of taste. It is a fun, informal online worksop via Zoom with a leading wine expert.

UPCOMING TASTING EVENTS
Dartmouth Food Festival – Drinks Seminar – Friday 24th October 2025 @ 11am
Rebecca is delighted to be hosting a Drinks Seminar at this year’s Dartmouth Food Festival: ‘Discover Wines of the Pacific Rim’ – a voyage of discovery around the Pacific Rim with an exciting selection of wines from both the northern and southern hemispheres. Explore the coastal wines of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, California and Chile to find out how the Pacific Ocean influences their climate. 11am at the Dartmouth Yacht Club on the South Embankment with stunning views over the River Dart and close to the buzz of the Festival. Dartmouth Food Festival – Food & Wine Pairing Masterclass – Saturday 25th October 2025 @ 6pm
Rebecca is delighted to be teaming up Chefs Charlie Ramsdale and Dan Teage from The Cellar Door Catering Company to host a ‘Food & Wine Pairing Masterclass’ at this year’s Dartmouth Food Festival. Join us to unravel the mystery of food and wine pairing. This year we’ll be adding a ‘touch of spice’ to the ingredients which is often a challenge when matching wines. Enjoy a delicious selection of 5 wines expertly paired with 5 canapés during this session at 6pm in the Chef’s Demo Kitchen in the Royal Avenue Gardens close to the River Dart at the centre of the Festival.
